Just keep reading.....

On my birthday I make a list of things to complete before my next birthday. One of the things on my list this year is to read 50 books. Now, I don't know what I was thinking when I made this goal. I love reading and try to find time for it, but I am not a fast reader. I take my time when it comes to reading books. I'm still trying to complete it. I figured, even if I don't the whole number, I should get a good part of it. Right now I have read 10 books so far.

The Key to Midnight: Dean Koontz
When I made my list, I was already reading this book. It took me a ling time to finish it because I found it boring. From what I understand, Dean Koontz rewrote this book. It was originally written by someone else. It's based in what would be modern day Japan. Man on vacation meets an American woman. They start talking and he realizes he knows her. She was a child of a Senator in the US. Man was hired many years ago to find her, but never did. She has no idea what he is talking about. Turns out she was brainwashed in a way. They go on with the story and try to help her figure everything out. They has a twist near the end.
I just didn't find it enjoyable. The thing that really bothered me is everyone spoke perfect English. Which seems far fetched when a good part of the book takes place in Japan. Maybe I'm just not worldly enough to know how the really talk in Japan, but I don't believe everyone know perfect English.

Odd Thomas: Dean Koontz
I loved this book, and they are making it into a movie. I has movie quality written all over it. FiancĂ© told me about this book. He has read lots of Dean Koontz and talked about how this is his favorite. So I gave it a shot, and I am happy I did. This is a book I would recommend to all type of people. It follows a young man named Odd and his strange endeavors. I don't want to talk too much about the book because I don't want to give anything away.

Forever Odd: Dean Koontz
So this is the second installment for the Odd Thomas series. I enjoyed the first book so much I really wanted to get into the second one. I was sad to notice that it was nothing like the first book. Beside for Odd none of the other characters are in the book. This made me sad, since the did such a good job building the other characters in the first book. I still read it, and it isn't an awful read, just very different. I story line seem to be to drawn out.

So this the start of the recaps for the books I've been reading. I will continue the write about the other ones on other days. I hope everyone can enjoy their Sunday.

Always Smiling,
Betha

Enjoying the blogging world!

I am starting off in the world of blogging. ( i know, late to the party). I don't care so much to have this blog be life changing, i just want to use it as my own personal blogging scrapbook. So I am starting out with reliving my Thursday with iPhone photos.

I started my day by cleaning my kitchen

This task is something I have been putting off forever. It's a real eye opener to see how many half open mustard one has in their fridge.

After getting sick of cleaning my kitchen, I finally decided that I should really get around for the day.

One fun thing about get ready for the day is taking unneeded pictures of myself. I like to do this so I know how many times I've worn clothing items, I feel it's been to make new outfits.

After getting ready for the day, I hung out with my dog, made a dessert, then headed down to my brother's house for family dinner.

This is a fairly new tradition my family has started. My family has lots of tradition (Sunday dinner, Christmas cookie, brunch...ect) I really enjoy this about my family, we are very close and I think these tradition help with that.

This is my wonderful life, I hope you enjoy.

Always Smiling,
Beth
